  • WA Labor commits $10,000 to build community garden in Heathridge

A re-elected McGowan Government will deliver $10,000 to establish a community garden at the Salvation Army’s Heathridge Corps.

The Salvation Army Heathridge provides support services for people in need and a new community garden at the facility will help the service deliver on its important community work.

The Salvation Army will use the new community garden to engage people involved with their services, building social ties, improving mental health and empowering participants.

The funding will be used to purchase raised beds, soil and seedlings.

Garden produce would be used in the church kitchen or to supplement people’s food sources.
