Joondalup Scam Prevention Forum

  • Joondalup MP Emily Hamilton hosted a Scam Prevention Forum to help the community stay safe online
  • Over 150 people attended the event held on Tuesday 30 April

Emily Hamilton, Member for Joondalup, hosted a Scam Prevention Forum this week, with over 150 attendees.

Minister for Commerce, Hon. Sue Ellery MLC, attended and had input into the Forum, with a representative from Consumer Protection WA presenting plenty of tips and real-life scenarios for people to learn from.

Attendees took notes and asked questions throughout the presentation and feedback was that the information shared was extremely useful.

Perhaps the most important tip is that legitimate organisations, including banks and government agencies, will never ask you to click on a link in an email or text message.

The event finished with attendees being able to ask questions about their experiences or concerns.
